This service is free, so you might wonder "Where is the catch?".
The answer is, there isn't a catch. True Speed at a Glance is a spinoff of my hobby project ZOMDir.com. I like to create websites like this in my spare time, although I also love to read a good book and walking in the nature.
Webbased
So far all software I have created is webbased. In my opinion this is the ultimate platform. By making the websites responsive the software is practically device independent.
Simple user interface
The goal was to create a great accurate speed checker. Thanks to the knowledge I gained from writing the Ultimate Speed Test Test, I think I know what a good speed test should look like.
That's why True Speed at a Glance's interface has been made as simple as possible.
Your true internet speed
During my research for the Ultimate Speed Test Test, I learned that your true internet speed, is up to 12% higher than the advertised speed.
However, there are not many speed tests that measure your true internet speed.
M-Lab based
Based on the GitHub code from M-Lab, we managed to develop the True Speed at a Glance speed test.
